Alan Pierson creates original online projects that take us deep into composers' music in novel ways.
A home-made video that emerged out of longing to reconnect with the natural world and with far-off loved ones during the pandemic lockdown. The musical source material comes from Ten Thousand Birds, the book of bird-inspired songs that John Luther Adams created for Alarm Will Sound. The video is a 5-minute, single-take pass through a home installation of the piece, created using the 26 screens that Alan and Paul Melnikow (Alan’s boyfriend and the project’s assistant director) were able to dig up during the pandemic.
